Show the history of who had the KOM or QOM previously and when.
The problem listing all the KOM\QOM history is that you need to take into account that even if the second fastest time WAS ridden before the current KOM\QOM may not have ever been an actual KOM\QOM as it may not have been uploaded until after the current KOM\QOM.
I noticed this when I first joined Strava as I uploaded a bunch of old rides and was showing up on the KOM history even though I never actually held these KOM's.
The previous 3rd party tool didn't take this into account as it had no way of knowing when rides were actually uploaded so assumed they were uploaded on the day of the ride.
I do like the idea of being able to track the history of KOM's and I use to like the ability to see how many of the top 10 times I have on a section as Strave only shown my best time on the leader board.
Perhaps KOM/QOM could be implemented on segments only above a certain threshold (if that's part of the reason why it was removed). So as only the most popular segments showcase it? Won't obviously appease everyone but could strike a balance.
GREAT IDEA - please do this!
Thanks, Geffrey. I can't provide those comparisons anymore since Strava shut down their API for segment details, but if they ever open it back up (please! please!) I will definitely try to make this data available.
I still miss this, along with sortable comparisons of efforts on a segment. Jonathan, your tool was the best thing going.
Hi Strava !
Please include the Kom history and the segment history like the website of Jonathan OKeefe' did.
Such a nice feature. Take a look at the following link:
Hi George. My comments here pertain to third-party tools that I developed on my own (I'm not associated with Strava) that (used to) allow you to see more extensive details about segment histories than you could get from the Strava site. My segment tools are no longer available since Strava removed the essential functionality from their API in the new version that they released at the beginning of July.
It's worth noting that what you're asking for (I think) can still be accomplished on the Strava website itself. You can create a segment from one of your own rides, and see all of your own efforts on that segment by clicking on the "My Results" button on the left side of the page, which will do what I think you're asking for.
Hi Jonathan, Good effort anyhow. are you a developer?
It's a shame Strava does not work with you on this. You would think it would be quite simple to create a segment and get your past history applied to the segment so you can compare past efforts.
Thanks for the kind words, Eric. Unfortunately, at the moment, it's not looking like it will be possible to recreate the segment details tool using the new V3 API. The new API doesn't include all the functionality of the old API, including, significantly, the ability to retrieve all efforts for a given segment. So unless Strava extends the new V3 API to include the capabilities that were present in the old APIs, it won't be possible to provide this functionality.
Hopefully Jonathan O'Keefe's Strava Segment Details (http://www.jonathanokeeffe.com/strava/segmentDetails.php?segmentId=...) can be revived in Strava's new V3 API. I found the KOM History, Full Results, and other analysis extremely useful and should be implemented into Premium.
Great utility. Thanks for developing it!
For example, I just saw a new QOM on a segment, and was curious by how much she took the record (and from whom)
Jonathan O'AWESOME! Thanks man! I'm posting this to my MTB group's page on FB!
Has the "My Results" tab been removed? I don't see it.
this pages doesn't seem to be working anymore. I'm on Firefox. Does that matter? The only like in this thread works but if I enter a different segment it breaks.
@Sian, just click the "My Results" tab on the left side near the bottom of the segment page.
is it possible to see my own personal history of segments, when i get a new pb am i losing the old history without trolling throgh all my activities to find my second best time etc, handy to track progress
Jonathan nice work pal, great site - have saved it as a favourite!
Thanks mudworm. The segment details page shows data from both men and women (combined). Strava's API doesn't currently provide information on rider gender, so I can't provide separate views for men and women. If that functionality becomes available, I'll definitely incorporate it.
The page looks very cool Jonathan, but is it only looking at men's data? Is there a way to switch to "women" view?
Brilliant ! Thanks Jonathan
Jonathan - that's really cool!
Can we please enhance the strava API to keep track of QOM??? We ladies like to see more data too!!!!!
Jonathan - You are the man!
Only problem is... I don't know how you'd actually use any of the information on the KOM history page. It's pretty to look at, but I don't see how it would affect which segments you chose to go after, or how you tried to ride them.
Really awesome; quite impressed. How Strava doesn't incorporate this will be beyond me? Nothing better than seeing and giving credit to those all before. Who fought for it, regained it, lost it......just amazing.
J O'K, that's totally totally cool. So great, Strava needs to give you multiple kudos for making that site. I hope they don't stop access. Nice 1.
Jonathan, Your page is awesome! You should develop for Strava! Awesome! Keep up the great work!!
Thanks Jonathan! This is way too cool!
Thank you Jonathan!
I've got a page that shows KOM history, as well as a lot of other segment details.
For any segment you specify, you can get KOM history, a full list of all rides on the segment, breakdowns by year, and more.
KOM history would make sense if the data was static - but since a lot of users keep adding old data to their accounts ("last years ride") KOM history on many segments keeps changing. Perhaps thats why the feature was removed?..
I'm still curious why this feature was removed in the first place. And since people clearly want it, and it's not something new to add, why not just put it back?
